The Wiccan Faith
As some of you already know, I am Wiccan. I guess the biggest difference
between Wicca and Christianity is that I have all my eggs in a basket here
on earth, Christians keep all their eggs in a basket in heaven. Pagan
People feel that the here and now is what is important, this earth, this
world, this Universe,....this NOW. We are not waiting and hoping for some
other life, the one after we die, we are busy living this one to the fullest
now. And when we leave this world, we aren't going to just disappear or
go worship another being for eternity, we will simply be reborn on the
other side. What we are will never die, it will just continue on in a different
form.

Wicca is a part of a new and growing religion, Neo Paganism. It's an Earth
based faith based on the Old Ways of the Wise, that honors the turning of
the wheel of life, the turning of the seasons, and honors the Divine Energy
that fills every thing around us. Wicca put the emphasis on the here and
the now, not on some "afterlife" that may not even exist. It's here, today
that matters. And it's how you live your life and how you treat others here
and now that matters. Not how much you prayed or how much you fasted,
or how much "faith" you have.

It is not a Satanic Cult! Infact, Wiccans do not believe in heaven or hell. Or
the "devil". Instead of blaming some evil spirit, Wiccan's assume the
responsibility for their own actions. It's not someone else's fault, it's mine!

Here is how Christainity got it's start......
You see, back in time, when the Church of Rome wanted to get control of
all the common people in Europe, they forced them to give up their Old
belief system and become Christians. It was a way to get everyone to
listen to them and be ruled by them. And they spread the word that if you
weren't a God fearing Christian, you were going to change or be killed.
In the times of the Pagan belief system, women were strong and
knowledgable, they were the teachers and healers. They had a lot of
power, and the Church was afraid of them, so if they couldn't turn them to
the Christian faith, they had to get rid of them, otherwise the people
wouldn't follow the Church. The Wise Women would tell them not to
listen, and to stand up for what they believed in, not to believe that new
Church had the right to command them.

So in an attempt to get more people to come over to the Christian Faith,
the Church put all it's Holy Days on Pagan Holy Days and even knocked
down Pagan temples and errected their own churches on the same spots!
Then, when they still couldn't get all the Pagan's to become Christians,
and follow their laws, they decided that any one who didn't was a Witch,
and they were evil and must repent and be burned at the stake. This was
the Inqusition. Over 9 Million European women died because they
wouldn't give up their faith and become Christians. And they weren't just
"burned", they were tortured in ways that make me sick to my stomach
just to read!

It was a horrible Holocaust, just like the Jews, but for some reason it
doesn't get remembered or memorialized like the other Holocaust. Most
likey because we are a Christian Country and remembering how the
Christians burned the Pagan women and children at the stake, makes us
not very different from Hitler torturing and killing all the Jews!!! That
does't put the Church in a very good light. The Christian Church has a lot
of power/land here in the US and in other countries too. It's a big
corporation, it is very rich and has a ton of assets. No poor Pagan "witch"
can ever fight back against them.
If you have any doubts about the Evil, self serving Christian Church,
please check out this link:

Here is a paragraph from the front page......

The Christian church murdered, tortured, mutilated and destroyed millions and
millions of lives both directly through the Inquisition and indirectly through all of
the wars they incited. The damage and destruction this religion has perpetrated
against humanity is almost beyond comprehension. Most people aren't even
aware of the facts. Between the years of 1450-1600, the Christian church was
responsible for the torture, and burning of some 30,000 alleged "witches."³

I can remember all the nights we knelt and prayed to the Christian
God,.....and I suppose it wasn't really the God's fault that people are so weak
and mean that they came up with a way to use religion to torture and mutilate
and finally Kill people of other religions. It's the fault of the People, not the
God. But it surer makes me wonder how we could beleive that the Christian
faith was a kind and gentle, loving and forgiving religion!
I feel very strongly that the Divine is the center of the universe, and we all
come from there, like spokes on a wheel,.....and that is where we will return
one day. Each religion is a different path and a different language to use to
communicate with the Divine Center. And people are all different, so why
wouldn't we need more than a "one fits all" faith?

All roads lead to the Center, which one you choose depends on which terrain
you are more comfortable with and what your needs are. Some people are
Buddhist, some are Christian and some of us are Pagan...etc. All ends
towards a common goal, to get back to where we started from. The Center.
The religion of Wicca is based in part on ancient Celtic deities,
symbols, days of celebration, etc. They are an Earth-centered religion
whose days of celebration follow the phases of the moon and the
seasons. Their total membership in the U.S. is on the order of 750,000.
That would make Wicca about the 5th largest organized religion in the
United States, behind Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and Hinduism.
